Each day would start with a 5 am wake up call from an old gong followed by the morning chants by the monks.
They didn’t have alarm clocks to wake us up. There was also no internet, no phones, and the food was 100% vegan.
The day started with a 20-minute jog down to the river where we would then do “Balance training”. The monks would ask us to grab a large rock, balance it on top of our heads and walk all the way back to the temple keeping it on our heads.
After a short pause for breakfast, we would get right back into it.
Each day consisted of two, 3-hour training sessions.
During the session, we would warm-up and dive right into intense circuits of Kung Fu moves, punches, kicks, blocks, stances and calisthenics.
After three hours of this, we’d stop for lunch and then do it all over again.
While it was totally exhausting, it was one of the greatest adventures of our lives.
After our second training session of the day, we would sit with the “Tea Master” who would talk to us about his tea cultivating methods and philosophy while we sat in the massive tea fields.
In our down time, occasionally the monks would join us, and we would all sit in the beautiful grounds while the monks would share their words of wisdom.
We knew this was the experience of a lifetime, and we wanted to find a way to share it with all of our students.
After all, we were learning secrets that had been kept inside the temple walls for centuries, and we wanted to share the essence of these teachings to as many people as possible.
That’s when we came up with the idea for Kung Fu Cardio.
You see, before our training with the Monks, we were introduced to Kung Fu working as stuntmen in Hollywood.
We joined the Blue 8 stunt team and became private students under world renowned Kung Fu master, Sifu Kisu.
Kisu is the fight instructor/consultant for the Avatar TV franchise and creator of the famous bending styles.
Kung Fu Cardio is our BRAND-NEW program where we took.....
